We’ve talked about the benefits of journaling during recovery and so we wanted share with you a journal DIY and some writing prompts to get you started. You write your most prized, intimate memories and thoughts inside – so why not personalize it? These simple notebooks are a breeze to put together and make great little gifts for you or anyone you love.
- 8.5 x 11 white paper (about 7-8 pages per journal)
- Printed cardstock for the cover (cut to 8.5 x 11)
- Embroidery thread
Fold both the cover page and white paper in half. Place the white paper inside of the cover.
Use your needle to poke holes through the spine of the book, about one inch apart.
Thread your embroidery string through the holes one way and then back the other way to reinforce the binding. Tie a knot at the end to secure it.
Simple, right? If you make a journal for yourself, we would love to see. Share your completed journal DIY with us on social media with #WriteMyOwnStory and encourage your friends to do the same.
